Actor, celebrity TV chef and Emmy-nominated TV host, Padma Lakshmi has created awareness on an interesting and unique concept. That’s right, exercising her social activism on instagram, Padma displayed a post highlighting the argument that if men were to have abortions, clinics would be as freely available as Starbucks and the ‘morning after pill’ would be available in different flavors. So why did she make such a “breaking news” comment? Well, Padma was raising awareness for reproductive rights on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade in America. This act initiated allowing abortions to become more accessible in the U.S.

Lakshmi was supporting ACLU which is a non-profit social advocacy group for reproductive rights in the U.S and she encouraged everyone to visit ACLU’s website http://www.aclu.org/endforcedpregnancy. Her concern was this anniversary could be the last one given the increasing resistance towards people exercising reproductive rights. The gorgeous lady argued that people had the right to choose when and if they wanted to start a family.
Padma incidentally was formerly married to Booker Prize winner Salman Rushdie. She later married billionaire Theodore Forstmann. She also has an 11-year-old daughter from businessman Adam Dell.
