Celebrated music composer Shameer Tandon who is known for giving background music for some of the much-celebrated National award-winning films naming ‘Page 3’, ‘Corporate’ and ‘Traffic Signal’ has come up with a new quirky song on fart called ‘Paad song’. “Farting is gender agnostic,” says Shameer Tandon. The Fart Song (Paad Song) is a fun and quirky track composed by Shameer Tandon, sung by the vocal-scientist Chetan Sashital and Dean Sequeira, written by Abhinav Nagar. The song is being released by one of the most prestigious labels of our country – Saregama Music.
Shameer Tandon said, ” I have taken the issue of fart, which in Hindi language called paad, everyone laughs at it and makes it a mockery. I think we should keep continuing to laugh if the song is bringing a smile to our face but never feel sky because farting is healthy and our body needs to do it to release gas. Farting is a global phenomenon and everyone around the world people fart 14 times a day. Farting is gender agnostic. Through the song ‘Paad’ we tried to create a foot-tapping number to laugh and say ‘yes, everyone farts’.”
Recalling his earlier work and highlighting on the social issue he has taken up, Shameer Tandon also added, ” I am a music composer who has always used music as a tool to spread awareness on various causes in society. I have repeatedly used music and taken up issues and tried to change the mindset of the people in our society, made them more conducive by breaking the stereotype.”
He continued, “It all started by doing an album with the transgenders who are also called ‘Hijra’ in our society. We have always seen them in a demeaning manner and insulted them throughout. What I tried to do is to create an awareness on how important it is to treat them with dignity because they are all children of God. Then I move on to another project for which the topic of discussion was mental health that requires a certain amount of visibility and education that it needs.”
Chetan Sashital lent voice for the ‘Paad song’. He is an actor, voice actor and singer, who is mostly recognized for working in the dubbing industry.
