Mika Singh’s great Swayamvar  Mika Di Voti, which was aired on the newly revamped Star Bharat channel and streaming on Disney+Hotstar,  is finally over. Mika’s hunt for the best bride too is over –he chose his best friend of 13 years Akanksha Puri and the couple looked deliriously in love with each other. Of course, like always many nasty trolls and negative tweets crawled out of the woodwork. Some of the prospective Rajkumaris too showed their bitchy side by carrying negative stories, while poor Mika and Akanksha  were slammed by haters on the social media. Mika had said in the beginning of this reality shaadi that he knew that “many of the girls had come looking at his name, fame and money” which he was alright with. …And of course the girls enjoyed their 15 minutes of fame – they had catfight, hugged and kissed Mika, flirted with the poor Punjabi munda for the cameras and that perhaps made the Punjabi singer get cold feet. But when Akanksha Puri came as wild card, it proved to be a boon to the 45-year-old singer. On the finale, his decision was final – it was his old friend Akanksha Puri whom he chose as bride. Well we say, good for them… more so since it wasn’t just any other reality show but one that touched the heart. So Mika was fully justified in choosing Akanksha. So if the trollers insinuate that the show was scripted, well, may they enjoy their time in the sun. But we believe it was Mika’s call, not a race to bag the gold.  It was to capture Mika’s heart which Akanksha Puri did. So congratulations to the happy couple. May this alliance be very happy!
