The world is facing one crisis after another. Global warming, the melting ice caps, forest fires, air pollution, the list is endless. Technology and industrialization have had adverse effects on the environment and regeneration of resources is almost getting impossible.  Celebrities have started campaigns and initiatives to give back to nature after decades of exploration and exhaustion of resources. Actresses have been wearing sustainable labels for a few years now, not just to promote an eco-friendly lifestyle, but also to honor the artists who put their time and effort into making beautiful outfits.

Anushka Sharma: Anushka Sharma, a strong lover of animals and the environment, has just partnered with SNEHA, a maternal health organization, to promote water conservation through circular fashion. Reusing clothing is the key to circular fashion. She even put her maternity outfits on sale.

Deepika Padukone: Actress Deepika Padukone recently associated with the navyasa by Liva From the House of Adity Birla Fashion to promote Sustainable saree collections which feature ethereal prints and chic styles revamping her wardrobe with eco-friendly outfits.

Alia Bhatt: Alia Bhatt started an initiative called Coexist to make people understand the balance between nature and life. Alia also started a clothing brand for children, Edamamma and with that, she created a conscious line of kidswear that is not only comfortable but good for the environment. 

Richa Chadha: Richa Chadha comes to mind when you think of sustainability. The talented actress has always been a proponent of an organic lifestyle, as evidenced by her pride in wearing sustainable labels such as Raw Mango on numerous occasions.

Dia Mirza: H&M, along with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), organised a preview to unveil the brand’s new Conscious Exclusive collection, and Dia Mirza was present to express her support for the cause. Dia Mirza, one of the first and few Indian celebrities to embrace sustainable fashion, said , “I am huge champion of nature and this line of H&M reflects my personal ethos.”
