Republic Day and the Stars

Republic Day was marked in various ways this year in Bollywood. Here is some of what the stars did and wore

Kangana was draped in a lime green Sabyasachi saree, while Deepika looked exquisite in a white chikankari laced ensemble. Diana Penty wore a white close-necked blouse with a printed white saree with tassels that contained pigments of yellow and green scattered across it. Aish wore a dual colored  hand-woven Banarsi saree with a pink body and a loud orange aanchal.

Big B donned an orange, white and green beard to show his solidarity for the occasion. He also posted an orange, white and green puja thali with the Indian flag at the Shree Rakhumai Vitthal Mandir in Sion.

Ayushman Khurana made an insta video post with a somewhat politicized poem on the rights Republic Day has given Indians.

Insaaniyat se bada kuch nahin. dharm nahin. siyasat nahin.

dhan nahin. virasat nahin. kisiki ho soch nai. Ho alag to alag sahi.

Par tujhe uss soch ko nochne ka haq nahin.

Yehi Bharat ka loktantra hai

aur ismein kisiko shak nahin.

On a nostalgic note,  Kangana Ranaut  posted a video on her insta of the first Indian anthem, a part of the archival footage.
