It was indeed a bright and sunny June day (June 19 to be exact)  that we stepped out to the plush Sofitel Mumbai BKC to sample some ‘yumm’ilicious Sindhi food, for the luxe hotel is celebrating ‘The Legend Of Sindh – Food festival from June 19- June 29, 2022. Known to showcase some excellent food festivals, Sofitel Mumbai BKC this time, has showcased authentic and amazing Sindhi cuisine at the fab Pondicherry Café, the all day dining multi-cuisine restaurant. In fact, somebody had commented in a jocular vein – Sindhi food reviewed by a Bengali at Pondicherry restaurant seems the perfect example of national integration, and indeed the experience was absolutely amazing.

It was a double whammy actually, for the café was celebrating Father’s day too and so as we settled down into the comfy cushioned chairs eyeing the vast buffet, we were regaled with some lively live music too. The food was excellent and included the some amazing starters ranging from tikkas to tandoors, onion and gucchi pulao, the famous Sindhi dal pakwan, authentic Sindhi spicy Murg  biryani with aloo bukhara, amazing Seyal Murgh, Sindhi seyal machi, Sindhi kadi, typical veggie curries, assorted papads, pickles and an entire array of mouth-watering desserts.  The food was authentically SIndhi and extremely tasty – in fact, if you haven’t been there as yet, do go and check it out. The service by the extremely attentive steward Piyush was an added bonus. All in all it was a great experience.
