Actress Prabh Grewal is portraying Indian boxer Kaur Singh’s better half in the upcoming film titled ‘Padma Shri Kaur Singh, and she is looking forward to people’s reaction to her performance.
Speaking about working in a biopic and playing a real life character on screen, Prabh avers, “First of all, it’s a once-in-a-lifetimeopportunity to play a real person and not a fictional character, and I feel grateful to have received this opportunity. Moreover, shooting the film was a fun experience for me as much as it was a responsibility. I had to work really hard to do justice to Baljeet Kaur’s character (wife of Kaur Singh) and bring out her real emotions and feelings on the screen.”
Prabh will be seen as a young and cheerful girl from Sangrur, Punjab, with whom Kaur Singh falls in love. The movie shows Singh’s journey of joining the army in order to convince his love’s family and ultimately identify his strengths as a boxer. Kaur Singh’s character will be played by Karam Batth.
When asked about her experience of sharing the screen with Karam, Prabh said, “Karam is a very fine actor and theatre artist. I had a lot to learn from him, especially the ease with which he performs the most difficult scenes. Besides being a phenomenal actor, Karam is a fantastic human being who took care of every person on the set. He made sure that everyone was comfortable and happy while shooting, and that’s the reason we could create a film that’s different from regular sports dramas and biopics.”
The film’s trailer was released a few days back, and the movie will hit the theatres on July 22, 2022.
